Open-Air Cinemas

Are you a fan of blockbuster movies or do you have a special passion for classic films? In both cases, there’s nothing better than spending a night under stars and watching a film in the moon light. There are many open-air cinemas in Berlin which offer a wide range of films and can provide a “fresh” option to summer hot temperatures. One of my favourite venues is the Freiluftkino Hasenheide, located near Kottbusser Tor U-Bahn station, in the court yard of Künstlerhaus Bethanien on Mariannen platz. It is the only open-air cinema which broadcasts  movies in original version, often with subtitles. Another nice location is the Freiluftkino INSEL, which recently moved to the Club Cassiopeia in Friedrichshain. Here you can enjoy classic films, documentaries as well as blockbusters. And last but not least… there’s the Freiluftkino Schloss Charlottenburg: the courtyard of this beautiful castle can offer enough space for more than 1000 film freaks… Enjoy the show!
